Open Kitchen | Get Cooking! | Flavours of the Mediterranean: Morocco

Explore the wonderfully diverse and delicious world of North African cuisine during this series dedicated to the flavours of the Mediterranean with instructor Eli Silverthorne. From bastilla to couscous to tagine, discover thesubtle spices behind the intriguing flavour combinations in Moroccan cuisine. After the cooking is complete, take off your apron and savour the results of your labour with a glass of mint tea. This class is suitable for the vegetarian diner. Perfect for the beginner to intermediate home cook.

  • Charmoula & Harissa Sauces
  • Whole Wheat Pita Bread

This class is eligible for the Flavours of the Mediterranean August Series Pass.  (Mediterranean passes on sale until April 1, 2019)

Safety regulations require students wear closed toe shoes when participating in any cooking class.

This class has a maximum capacity of 14 students.

Classes are for students 16 years and older.

Participants will be provided with an apron and all necessary tools and equipment.

Menus, recipes and instructors are subject to change as required.

Help us help the environment! In the off chance we cook too much, please bring a container with you to help take home any leftovers. (One 1 litre container is recommended).

If you need to cancel a class, it is possible to get a refund (less the service fee) up to 7 days before the date of the event via your universe.com account. A credit note may be issued for cancellations received by email (admin@stratfordchef.com) a minimum of 48 hours before the event.

Please note that there are no credit notes or refunds for missed classes or classes cancelled less than 48 hours before the event.

* All Open Kitchen classes purchased online or by credit card are subject to a 5% service fee. Our ticketing service hosted by universe.com includes this fee in the total listed price.

Rachelle Shubert Sing for Health! - Stratford Summer Music

Rachelle Shubert is a Canadian singer, a new resident of Stratford and a visual artist. Her life as a music composer and performer informs the emotional tone of her expressionistic paintings.

Rachelle's artistic practice is informed by dreamlike imagery that reveals our shared humanity and courage to resist oppression. In this interactive workshop, we invite you to join Rachelle and to sing for your health!

Rachelle has sung professionally for over thirty years, performing jazz, classical, folk and original compositions. Over the course of her career, she has conducted choirs and directed concert series. For fifteen years Rachelle was Music Director and Cantorial Soloist for a Montréal synagogue, where she became known for her warm musical style and innovative programming. In 1999 she founded a vibrant Montréal community choir that she directed until leaving the city in 2014. Rachelle continues to encourage singing as a means to connect with our inner selves and to build community.

Summer Exhibition at Agora Gallery

Juliet III Cruise Boat Tours

The Tour Boat, running every half hour, is a great way to spend the afternoon on the River. 

There have been a few tour boats over the years spanning from the mid 1800's up to today. Officially their has been the Juliet I, II, and now III, but predating this there has also been a Juliet tour Boat back in the mid 1800's as pictured below. Countless tours have taken place over the years and proudly for more than 50 years the Herr family has carried on this tradition. Come enjoy a relaxing ride down the river and discover why this has been a tradition for many year and many more to come.
