Private Letters, Public Lives
Noël Coward wrote Private Lives as a vehicle for himself and Gertrude Lawrence, and they triumphed in it. As well as being lifelong friends, they were prolific and entertaining correspondents. Actors from the company read a selection of letters between the two as writer and journalist Robert Cushman leads us through an examination of their professional and personal relationship and its impact on Coward’s work.
